What You'll Do
- Set up and operate CNC machining centers for production.- Verify setups and maintain maximum machine utilization.- Troubleshoot machining issues and minimize downtime.- Read blueprints and work from engineering drawings and specifications.- Use precision measuring equipment to verify part quality.- Manage tooling, fixtures, and setup documentation.- Support machine maintenance and resolve machine alarms when needed.- Partner with Engineering, Programming, Quality, and Production to improve manufacturing processes.- Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, tooling performance, and repeatability.- Train and support machine operators on setup procedures and best practices.- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Two or more years of CNC setup experience in a manufacturing environment.- Technical education in CNC machining or equivalent hands-on experience.- Strong blueprint reading skills.- Experience using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges.- Working knowledge of tooling, fixtures, cutting tools, and workholding.- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.- Good computer and documentation skills.- Excellent communication and teamwork.
- Experience with GD&T.- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.- Previous experience training operators or mentoring other machinists.
