Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Driver Recruiter with at least 5 years of recent driver recruiting experience. This is not an entry-level recruiting role. The ideal candidate must already understand CDL-A driver recruiting, driver hiring standards, lead follow-up, ATS usage, qualification requirements, and the urgency required to compete for quality drivers in today’s market.
The Driver Recruiter will be responsible for managing driver leads from initial contact through application, qualification, and orientation scheduling. This person must be highly organized, persistent, professional, comfortable with technology, open to learning new systems and processes, and comfortable being held accountable to weekly recruiting goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit qualified CDL-A company drivers for GP Transco.
- Contact and follow up with driver leads quickly and consistently.
- Source driver leads through various recruiting channels, including job boards, social media and other approved sourcing methods.
- Clearly explain GP Transco’s pay, benefits, home time, equipment, company culture, and hiring requirements.
- Build strong relationships with prospective drivers throughout the recruiting process.
- Screen candidates for qualifications, experience, safety history, location, and job fit.
- Guide drivers through the application and onboarding process.
- Maintain accurate notes and candidate status updates in the recruiting system.
- Work closely with safety, onboarding, and operations teams to move qualified drivers toward orientation.
- Meet or exceed weekly recruiting activity, conversion, and hire goals.
- Represent GP Transco professionally and honestly in all candidate communication.
- Stay current on market conditions, driver expectations, competitor offerings, and recruiting best practices.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of recent CDL-A driver recruiting experience required.
- Strong understanding of trucking industry recruiting, driver qualifications, and hiring standards.
- Experience recruiting OTR, regional, or dry van drivers preferred.
- Proven track record of converting driver leads into qualified hires.
- Experience using Tenstreet or similar driver recruiting/ATS platforms strongly preferred.
- Comfortable using technology, recruiting systems, communication tools, and reporting dashboards.
- Open to learning new tools, processes, and recruiting strategies.
- Comfortable working toward and being accountable for weekly recruiting goals.
- Excellent phone, text, and email communication skills.
- Strong follow-up discipline and ability to manage a high-volume pipeline.
- Ability to work with urgency while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing driver information and updating candidate records.
- Must be comfortable working in a performance-driven recruiting environment.
- Must be reliable, organized, and self-motivated.

The ideal candidate is someone who already knows driver recruiting and can step into the role with minimal training. They understand that speed, consistency, and honest communication matter. They are comfortable having direct conversations with drivers, asking qualifying questions, overcoming objections, and helping the right candidates move forward.

Compensation
- Salary range: $75,000 – $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Monthly bonus available based on number of hires.
- Full-time position.
