Responsibilities
- Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately interpret project scope and material requirements for painting estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other construction management tools to develop detailed cost proposals.
- Conduct material cost estimating by analyzing blueprints and project documents to determine quantities and pricing for paints, primers, coatings, and related supplies.
- Manage project budgets by estimating labor costs, equipment needs, and subcontractor expenses while maintaining cost control throughout the bidding process.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams through effective negotiation to secure favorable pricing and terms.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that include detailed spreadsheets, cost breakdowns, and scope of work summaries.
- Review construction contracts and manage project documentation to ensure estimates align with contractual obligations and project timelines.
- Assist in reviewing construction management software data to track project progress, costs, and change orders during project execution.
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately to estimate material requirements from blueprints efficiently.
- Support project management efforts by providing estimation insights that influence scheduling, resource allocation, and overall project planning.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry.
- Strong proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, and other construction management tools.
- Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, construction drawing review, and interpreting technical drawings.
- Demonstrated ability in cost management, material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and estimating construction project budgets.
- Excellent negotiation skills coupled with effective client communication abilities.
- Familiarity with construction site experience and understanding of construction management processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for detailed estimation work.
- Knowledge of contracts management and project management principles relevant to the construction industry.
- Construction industry experience with a focus on estimation for commercial projects is highly preferred.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
