Summary:
GAC is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk who will process both domestic and international shipments based on pre-defined customer routing instructions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Import/export process including services and functions provided by customs brokers, freight forwarders, ocean liners and truckers.
- Commercial documents, applying the appropriate HT schedule for accurate duty assessment as well as country specific requirements such as Chamber of Commerce signoff, SASO certification etc.
- Review and resolve transportation related invoicing, coding, documentation issues with tracking for corrective action and continuous improvement measures.
- Support military specific requirements such as CofC, on-site audits, special packing requests etc..
- Provide customer assistance for customer-specific packaging, shipping related issues, delivery confirmation, and claims.
- Coordinate / execute after hours shipping requests (post 3pm) for UPS red and other emergency shipments etc..
- Handle all internal material requisition requests and catalog / inventory refurbished units for customer emergency replacements.
Qualifications
3 years of experience in a similar position
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal & written communication skills
Superb attention to detail
Ability to multitask
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent preferred LANGUAGE SKILLS
Should be able to read and understand English
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Good math skills; basic mathematical capabilities.
REASONING ABILITY
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Above average Microsoft Office skills
Thorough understanding of ERP systems
Expertise in on-line shipping software (ie. UPS Worldship, Fedex Ship Manager)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Should have forklift certificate or pass the forklift test administered in house.
