Job Summary

The Accounting Clerk will perform routine administrative and accounting duties.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Processes accounts payable for project vendors and site purchases; code and post

transactions using company accounting practices and procedures; electronically file all

related documentation.

  • Maintains an accounts payable spreadsheet to ensure monthly accruals is correct.
  • Creates invoices for customers, inclusive of Prime Contractors and Government, based on

work performed at the location. Once signed by Project Manager, forward to customer

and save electronically with all related documentation.

  • Coordinates vendor credit application process between GCR Finance and the vendor.
  • Ensures an accurate end of month accrual report.
  • Conducts research to identify any discrepancies related to any of the applicable

accounting functions.

  • Maintains accurate conformance with all Corporate issued accounting processes and

practices.

  • Processes expense reports for employees as needed.
  • Develops financial reports and charts related to spending, accruals, budget comparison,

etc. as prescribed by the Vice President-Finance & Accounting.

  • Presents yourself in a professional manner at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Program.

  • Perform all assigned work in a safe and reasonable manner that avoids preventable

injury and preventable property/equipment damage to you, co-workers, Customers, the

Company, and/or the public.

  • Safely performs functions of the position including proper safety guidelines such as job

hazard analysis, lockout/tagout and wearing PPE as required.

  • Through leadership and personal example, exemplify a personal commitment to and

support of the Company/Project Safety Culture.

  • Monitor subordinate safety compliance, ensuring safety is integral part of all work

activities.

  • Take appropriate corrective action (stop-work, remedial training, disciplinary action,

etc.) when subordinates fail comply with established OSH policies & procedures in order

to prevent recurrence.

  • Immediately report all occupational injuries, unsafe conditions, and/or property

damage.

  • Use and enforce the wearing of personal protective equipment.
  • Always wear a seatbelt while operating/riding in a company vehicle, or a privately

owned vehicle while performing work activities or acting as an agent of the Company.

  • Never talk on the phone without hand free option or text message while operating in a

company vehicle or a privately-owned vehicle while performing work activities or acting

as an agent of the Company.

  • Not be unfit for work due to the presence, ingestion, consumption or inhalation of illegal

drugs, prescribed medications, over-the-counter drugs and/or alcohol.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain base access.
  • Submit to and successfully pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Detail-oriented, multi-tasker with strong analytical and accounting skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting software.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with

high level of difficulty.

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five years of progressive accounting experience.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business.

Conditions of Employment

  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug test.
  • Candidates must pass a background check prior to hire.
