Gourmet Pie & Cafe is seeking a dependable and hands-on Human Resources Operations Coordinator to support both people operations and daily team leadership at our single-location restaurant.
This is a full-time, on-site role designed for a small business environment. The position combines HR coordination with active leadership support on the floor. It is not a corporate HR or office-only role.
You will work closely with ownership and managers to keep people processes organized, support team performance, and reinforce our culture and standards every day.
Key ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources & Administration (Approx. 40–50%)
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, paperwork, and orientation
- Maintain employee records and documentation
- Track attendance, scheduling issues, breaks, and timekeeping
- Assist with recruiting coordination and interview scheduling
- Support training documentation and certification tracking
- Track basic HR KPIs (turnover, attendance, overtime)
- Support compliance tracking (files, postings, records)
Team Leadership & Operations Support (Approx. 50–60%)
- Be present on the floor to support daily operations
- Help lead pre-shift huddles and reinforce expectations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions
- Support managers with follow-up on attendance, behavior, and performance
- Reinforce company culture, teamwork, and service standards
- Assist with coverage coordination and day-to-day problem solving
Qualifications
- Experience in HR coordination, operations, hospitality, or team leadership
- Comfortable working with hourly employees in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to be hands-on and visible on the floor
- Strong organization, communication, and follow-through
- Restaurant or service-industry experience strongly preferred
- This role is best suited for someone early to mid-career, not a senior HR professional
