Cleaning & Sanitation Worker

The Gourmet Factory is a leading family-run business and a direct source packer of edible oils and olives. We take pride in our employees and the dedication they bring to the company. We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Warehouse Sanitation to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary production environment by cleaning equipment, removing waste, and preparing production areas for the next shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean, scrub, scrape, and wash production equipment to maintain sanitary conditions.
• Disassemble and clean production equipment according to sanitation procedures.
• Prepare machinery and production areas for the next shift.
• Sweep, mop, clean, and sanitize floors throughout the facility.
• Remove plant waste and trash in a timely manner.
• Operate and control high-pressure hoses and pressure-washing equipment.
• Learn and perform proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures for packaging equipment.
• Learn to operate floor scrubbers and other sanitation equipment.
• Follow all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
• Adhere to sanitation dress code requirements and maintain good personal hygiene.
• Participate in ongoing departmental training and development.
• Participate in mandatory weekly deep-cleaning and sanitation operations.
• Maintain awareness of workplace hazards, including wet and slippery surfaces.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
• Perform all assigned duties in accordance with company policies, specifications, and safety requirements.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to speak English.
• Previous sanitation, warehouse, manufacturing, or food production experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Must have a flexible schedule, including availability to work overtime as needed.
• Must be able to work flexible shift hours and remain on duty until assigned tasks are completed.

Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift.
• Ability to safely control high-pressure hoses and sanitation equipment.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to safely lift loads of 50 pounds or more when required.
• Ability to handle sanitation chemicals safely and according to established procedures.
• Ability to work in wet environments and around production equipment.
