Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and organized Packaging Supervisor / Packaging Lead to support and oversee daily packaging operations within a manufacturing environment. This role works closely with the Packaging Manager to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and compliance requirements are consistently met across multiple packaging lines. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience, production planning knowledge, KPI awareness, and excellent communication skills, with the ability to step in as acting Packaging Manager when needed. This position plays a critical role in driving efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement while maintaining strict adherence to cGMPs and safety standards.
Duties
- Assist the Packaging Manager in overseeing daily packaging operations across multiple production lines
- Examine work orders, packing specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs), identifying and correcting discrepancies
- Ensure production runs meet scheduled quantities, timelines, and quality standards
- Participate in daily and weekly packaging planning and coordination with production schedules
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve machine setup issues and equipment malfunctions
- Ensure policies related to materials handling, hoppers, packaging processes, and vehicle loading are followed
- Coordinate closely with planning, inventory, Quality Assurance, maintenance, and other cross-functional teams
- Supervise and support packaging supervisors, line leaders, and operators
- Serve as acting Packaging Manager as needed for coverage, PTO, or off-shift operations
- Track KPIs, production metrics, and prepare reports for Packaging Manager and upper management
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, labor optimization, and waste reduction
- Support the implementation of new procedures, equipment, and SOP updates
- Ensure operators are properly trained, qualified, and documentation is accurately maintained
- Support audits, inspections, and internal reviews as required
- Monitor and enforce adherence to safety, environmental, sanitation, and cGMP guidelines
- Maintain clear communication with operators, supervisors, management, and relevant departments
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Packaging Manager
Skills
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or Business preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, packaging, or production environment
- At least three (3) years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of production schedules, planning processes, and manufacturing KPIs
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for reporting and data tracking
- Strong mathematical and counting skills
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities
- Clear and effective communicator with operators, supervisors, and management
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (required)
- Working knowledge of cGMPs, SOPs, and quality standards within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to lead, train, coach, and motivate teams in a fast-paced setting

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
