What are the responsibilities and job description for the PIP/Worker's Comp Attorney position at Gottlieb and Greenspan?
Gottlieb and Greenspan LLC is a boutique law firm based in Fair Lawn, New Jersey that primarily represents medical providers against insurance companies in reimbursement disputes. We are seeking an attorney with a minimum 2-3 years of New Jersey PIP (aka No-Fault or Personal Injury Protection) arbitration experience, with a heavy emphasis on ability to "fee schedule" a case according to the NJ PIP Fee Schedule.
We feel that the ability to "fee schedule" a case will translate well to the other tasks we'd like this attorney to handle, which would be their primary responsibilities.
This person will continue to work the few PIP cases we have in house, but will primarily handle NJ Workers' Compensation medical provider claims cases, NJ Commercial (ER/Surprise bill) Arbs and NY Commercial (ER/Surprise bill) Arbs.
Pay is between $110,000 and $130,000 per year (commensurate with experience) in addition to 100% medical and dental coverage for the employee and 401(k) matching up to 4% of salary.
Responsibilities:
- NJ WC
- Filing matters via NJ eCourts WC Portal login (called CourtsOnline)
- Responsible for making the zoom appearances, reviewing adversary papers, making settlement offers.
- Paralegal support will handle appeals
- NJ Commercial Arbs (Surprise Bill Arbitration)
- "Fee scheduling" the cases and prepping briefs (which are largely template).
- Paralegal support will handle appeals and filing here
- NY IDR Commercial Arbs (Surprise Bill Arbitration)
- Prep the briefs, assemble UCR proofs, create "fee schedule" charts, and reach out to clients to get their signatures on the filing forms
- Paralegal support will handle appeals and filing
- NJ PIP
- Handle the appeals, then briefs, document requests, settlement demands.
- Paralegal support will handle filing
Required Qualifications:
- A Juris Doctor (J.D) degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership and in good standing in:
NJ State Bar(required)
NY State Bar (a plus)
