As a Project Estimator Designer in our Construction department within the Maintenance Division, you will prepare cost estimates for landscape renovation and installation projects. This will include reviewing and analyzing the scope of work and project requirements for each job to ensure that all requirements can be met.
*This position will be based in Palo Alto and must be able to travel locally within the Bay Area (San Jose, Peninsula, San Francisco, East Bay). A company paid take home vehicle will be provided to travel to project sites.
*HIGHLIGHTS of what our Landscape Construction Estimator Designer will do, but not limited to:
- Meet on site and/or virtually with clients and colleagues to understand project expectations.
- Assess needs and site conditions and provide professional advice to determine final scope of work. Includes advising on plants, basic horticulture needs, common landscape materials, drainage, and basic irrigation design.
- Develop presentations (basic plans, renderings, and/or proposals) to communicate scope of work
- Gather, calculate and compile site data and/or take-off data to prepare project estimates, to include material quantities, production rates, site specific logistics, and understanding of crews abilities,
- Utilize standard estimating software to include MS office Excel to prepare routine estimates as well as detailed cost estimates for projects under the supervision of the Project & Construction Managers
- Research, evaluate, create and maintain current & accurate pricing information & quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
*Skills & experience that are necessary as a Landscape Construction Estimator Designer will include, but not limited to:
- An AA or BA college degree and/or have a minimum of 2-3 years landscape construction experience is highly preferred
- Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), and Adobe Photoshop
- Creative and practical abilities to assemble plant palettes, design basic irrigation retrofits, provide professional advisement to clients and colleagues
- Strong work ethic, solid time management skills & possess effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment & able to meet moving/changing deadlines

Starting Salary Range:
- $95,000 - $120,000 per year (specific compensation may vary based on overall skills, experience and location)
- Annual Bonus potential (specific amount may vary based on overall division performance)
