This role will be instrumental in building and optimizing network automation platforms and tools, enabling smarter operations, analytics, and monitoring as part of a broader network transformation strategy.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience developing automation frameworks and tools (not just consuming them), with expertise in scripting, packet-level analysis, and performance monitoring. This is a high-impact opportunity to design, implement, and optimize automation strategies that improve availability, reliability, and efficiency across a global network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement network automation frameworks and tools to drive operational efficiencies.
- Create and optimize monitoring solutions and other analytics/visualization platforms.
- Automate network device management (routers, switches, firewalls, proxies) using Ansible, Python, or PowerShell.
- Perform packet-level debugging for complex troubleshooting.
- Conduct network analysis and operations reviews, identifying opportunities for efficiency through automation.
- Document automation frameworks, administrative procedures, and best practices.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (network, security, operations, MSPs) to define requirements and deliver automation solutions.
- Drive tool upgrades, operational excellence projects, and automation-driven changes in production.
- Mentor and cross-train team members on automation practices and frameworks.
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on development of network automation frameworks and solutions (must have built tools, not just used them).
- Strong scripting expertise with Ansible, Python, or PowerShell.
- Experience with monitoring/visualization platforms.
- Proficiency with analysis, packet-level debugging, and network performance monitoring.
- Solid understanding of network analysis and operations.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- 10 years of professional IT/networking experience, including 3 years focused on automation tools and frameworks.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with automation platforms/frameworks (CI/CD pipelines, APIs).
- Exposure to Cisco ACI, Fortinet, F5 LTM/GTM, DDI, Splunk, OpenShift.
- Cloud integration and hybrid networking experience.
- Frontend development skills for building dashboards or visualization layers.
Why Join
- Work on cutting-edge network transformation and automation initiatives.
- Collaborate across infrastructure, security, and operations teams.
- Influence strategy while remaining hands-on with technology.
- Be part of an environment where automation and analytics are front and center.
