Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate surgical procedures, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless operations.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for patients and their families, providing pre-operative instructions and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including surgical schedules, medical histories, and consent forms.
- Monitor and manage surgical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and preparation for each procedure.
- Assist in the verification of patient insurance coverage and handle any necessary pre-authorization processes.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulations, and standards of care related to surgical procedures.
- Facilitate communication between the surgical team and other departments to ensure coordination of patient care.
- Assist in postoperative follow-ups by coordinating appointments and providing necessary information to patients.
- Bachelor Degree; additional certification in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in a medical office or healthcare setting, with previous surgical coordination experience being highly desirable.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Proficiency in medical scheduling software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
