We are a well established private OB/GYN practice seeking a polished and highly organized Surgical Coordinator to manage the surgical experience from scheduling through post-procedure care. This is a patient-facing role requiring professionalism, discretion, and exceptional attention to detail in a high-touch, luxury medical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule obstetrics and gynecologic procedures with hospitals and surgical centers
- Serve as the primary liaison between patients, physicians, and surgical facilities
- Manage surgical calendars, pre-op requirements, and clearances
- Obtain prior authorizations and verify surgical benefits
- Provide white-glove patient communication and guidance throughout the surgical process
- Ensure all documentation, labs, and imaging are completed prior to surgery
- Maintain accurate records in EMR and scheduling systems
Qualifications
- 2 years of surgical coordination or medical scheduling experience (OB/GYN or surgical specialty preferred)
- Strong knowledge of insurance authorizations and surgical workflows
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Professional demeanor with a patient-centered, concierge approach
- Experience in private practice or high-end medical settings strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Surgery Scheduling and familiarity with Medical Terminology
- Experience in Insurance Verification and understanding of related processes
- Strong Customer Service and Communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a high-pressure environment
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Comfortable working in a clinical or healthcare setting
- Previous experience as a Surgical Coordinator or in a similar role is a plus
