Assistant Director of Special Services
Gorham School is seeking a qualified and collaborative Special Education Assistant Director to support the leadership of PreK–12 special education programming across the district. This role is responsible for assisting with the administration, supervision, and coordination of services to ensure compliance with all federal and state special education and Section 504 regulations while promoting high-quality, inclusive practices for students with disabilities. The Assistant Director will provide instructional leadership and guidance to staff, support data-informed decision-making, mentor special education teachers and service providers, and collaborate closely with general and special education teams to implement evidence-based strategies. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong knowledge of special education law, child development, and best practices, along with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Candidates must hold a current Maine DOE Criminal History Records Check, Teacher of Students with Disabilities (282) endorsement, and either Administrator of Special Education (030) or Assistant Administrator of Special Education (035) certification.
