This role involves overseeing the entire origination process, from prospecting and client acquisition to deal structuring and closing, while ensuring alignment with company goals and requirements. The Senior Director reports to the Managing Director of Originations and works closely with various internal teams, including credit, funding, and operations, to ensure a smooth and efficient origination process.

Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of originators, setting targets, providing guidance, and ensuring the achievement of individual and team goals
- Develop and implement strategies to increase origination volumes and profitability.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
- Business Development: Identify and develop new equipment finance originations opportunities. Establish and maintain relationships with key clients, vendors, and partners to drive deal flow. Preference for a focus on relationships with private equity firms and sponsor owned middle market obligors.
- Deal Structuring: Oversee the structuring of financing solutions, including leases and loans, to meet the specific needs of clients while adhering to company credit policies and risk parameters.
- Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to inform business strategy and identify opportunities for growth.
- Client Relationship Management: Ensure high levels of client satisfaction by maintaining strong relationships, addressing concerns, and providing exceptional service throughout the financing process.
- Risk Management: Collaborate with credit and risk teams to assess the financial health of clients and mitigate potential risks associated with new deals.
- Create term sheet offerings to be submitted for direct client opportunities.
- Analyze financial statements.
- Understands differences in product types (Loans, Capital Leases, TRAC Leases, FMV / Tax Leases, etc.) and impact on return / pricing, etc.
- Summarize viability of opportunities based off GB’s parameters and provide general guidance regarding acceptability based on GB’s general risk / return guidelines.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on origination activities, pipeline vstatus, and performance metrics to senior management.
- Travel: Travel to conferences and client locations as business opportunities dictate.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in equipment finance, with a strong track record in business development and deal origination. Previous leadership experience is highly desirable.
