Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented temporary dental assistant to join our prosthodontics specialty team. This position is available now through the end of February 2026 to cover while a team member is on maternity leave.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, ordering supplies and maintaining a clean and organized environment in accordance with infection control protocols.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, utilizing medical imaging techniques. DANB RHS certification required.
- Make high quality digital and analog dental impressions
- Manage patient records using dental software, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Ensure the sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols within the clinic.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to optimize office efficiency.
- Provide support in administrative tasks as required, contributing to a positive patient experience.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental terminology and familiarity with various dental procedures.
- Experience with dental software systems such as Oryx and TRIOS is preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control practices within a dental clinic setting.
- Understanding of prosthodontic procedures is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with patients and team members.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques is advantageous.
Pay commensurate with experience.
