Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities
- Design and develop conveyor systems and mechanical components using CAD tools (SolidWorks).
- Plan, delegate, and schedule work to be performed, which includes monitoring and communicating with those performing work delegated, or happening in other areas, to assure timelines are met. (EX: material acquisition, outsourced drafting, MRP system loading, and production planning)
- Provide technical support, field application support, training, and technical data to all other areas of the company as needed to meet or exceed our customer expectations.
- Formulate creative and efficient design solutions, maintaining structural integrity of the product while optimizing customer desires, feature requirements, cost, and manufacturing throughput goals.
- Create detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
- Manage full project lifecycle: scope, schedule, budget, and client communication.
- Provide technical support during installation and commissioning.
- Communicate positively with managers, peers, and customers, both internal and external.
- Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in mechanical design or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Minimum of three years of mechanical design/project management experience in the food and beverage industry.
- SolidWorks: required
- Must have SolidWorks experience and experience designing conveyors/material handling equipment in the Food & Beverage Industry.
