- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, operations management, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5–7 years of purchasing, supply chain, or warehouse management experience, ideally in steel manufacturing, heavy industry, machining, or metals
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor, or similar)
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Deep knowledge of inventory control techniques
- Leadership abilities with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience with FAR/DFARS and federal-contractor procurement compliance
- Familiarity with ISO, AS9100, or nuclear/defense quality and traceability requirements
- Oversee all purchasing, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse functions
- Develop local procurement and sourcing strategies focused on cost savings and reliability
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service levels with suppliers, and assess ongoing vendor performance
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, federal-contractor rules, and audit standards
- Train, develop, and supervise procurement and stores team members, setting clear goals and metrics
- Monitor and optimize inventory levels, implement best-in-class inventory controls, and maintain accurate ERP records
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, operations, and finance to meet production and operational needs
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse organization, safety, and processes
