Job Title: Contract Process Engineering Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Irvine, CA (On-site)

Compensation: $120,000–$150,000 (Contract)

Type: Full-Time Contract | Start ASAP

A specialized manufacturer of safety cutters and precision blades is seeking a hands-on Process Engineering Manager to evaluate, optimize, and modernize manufacturing processes across press stamping, heat treating, and blade grinding operations.

This role is ideal for a technically strong leader who can challenge existing workflows, implement data-driven improvements, and gain cross-functional buy-in to drive measurable performance gains in a safety-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering across blade grinding and cutter manufacturing
• Improve workflows, reduce waste, and improve cycle times and quality
• Implement SOPs and best practices across operations
• Troubleshoot production and equipment issues with cross-functional teams
• Mentor operators, engineers, and production staff
• Promote safety and regulatory adherence
  
  

Required

• 3–5 years of leadership in Process/Manufacturing Engineering
• Strong background in manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering
• Experience optimizing high-precision manufacturing processes
• Excellent communication and team alignment skills
  
  

Preferred

• Grinding, machining, metal fabrication, or blade production
• Lean, Six Sigma, SPC
• Safety-critical manufacturing experience
