Electrical Engineer – Distribution Planning Benefits And Compensation
- Base salary range: $90,000 – $120,000

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology required
- 5 years of Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Engineering experience (10 years for Engineer III consideration)
- Strong knowledge of distribution system planning, reliability, and grid modernization
- Experience with one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring, and connection diagrams
- Ability to manage projects, budgets, and reporting deliverables
- Proficiency with PC-based software, including Excel
- Must hold a valid driver’s license
- Must successfully pass identity verification and a seven-year background check (per NERC standards)
- Develop short- and long-term distribution capital project plans based on reliability, safety, risk assessment, and equipment condition
- Review and analyze inspection and test results to recommend corrective actions and projects
- Support inspection and maintenance programs for distribution assets
- Prepare and submit reports to internal and external stakeholders (e.g., regulators, executives, board of directors)
- Perform system analysis in support of grid modernization, reliability improvements, and safety initiatives
- Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and other departments to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Prior utility industry experience with system planning, protection, or reliability analysis
- Familiarity with enforceable utility standards and regulatory compliance
- Demonstrated initiative in process improvement and efficiency
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to work across departments
- Experience prioritizing and forecasting projects for capital planning
