We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Agency Manager to oversee the operations, growth, and profitability of a property and casualty insurance agency specializing in commercial lines for contractors. The manager will be responsible for leading the sales and service teams, ensuring compliance, developing new business, and maintaining strong client relationships with contractors in construction and related industries.
Agency Manager Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Lead day-to-day operations of the agency, including sales, customer service, underwriting coordination, and claims support.
- Supervise and mentor producers and customer service representatives (CSRs), ensuring performance goals are met.
- Implement processes and workflows to maximize efficiency, client satisfaction, and compliance with carrier/industry standards.
- Monitor agency performance metrics (premium growth, retention, loss ratios, and profitability).
- Drive new business growth in commercial lines, with a focus on general contractors, specialty trade contractors, and construction-related businesses.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling additional coverage.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, underwriters, and industry partners.
- Represent the agency at networking events, contractor associations, and community functions.
- Serve as a senior point of contact for key accounts, ensuring a high standard of service.
- Assist in developing tailored risk management and insurance solutions for contractor clients.
- Oversee renewal strategies to achieve high retention rates.
- Ensure compliance with state insurance regulations, licensing requirements, and carrier guidelines, CE, licensing , appointments.
- Maintain accurate records, reporting, and documentation as required by law and company policy.
- Provide training and enforce agency standards for ethical sales and service practices.

- Hours: Standard First Shift Hours
- Assignment Length: Permanent
- Start Date: Immediate Start
- Pay Rate: $80K/yr. - $120K/yr.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field preferred.
- Bilingual strongly preferred
- Active Property & Casualty Insurance License (required).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial lines insurance, with a focus on contractors/construction clients.
- Prior management or supervisory experience in an insurance agency strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction-related risks, coverage lines (GL, Workers’ Comp, Auto, Builders Risk, Umbrella, Bonds, etc.).
- Proven ability to drive growth, build client relationships, and lead a high-performing team.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities with both clients and carriers.
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret performance metrics and adjust strategy.
- Proficiency in agency management systems, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
