- Maintain organized and accurate accounting records
- Process accounts payable and ensure timely payment of vendor invoices and debts
- Manage accounts receivable and ensure prompt collection
- Calculate and process student refunds
- Reconcile all bank accounts monthly
- Prepare monthly Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) reports
- Maintain petty cash controls
- Generate and distribute monthly financial statements to the Executive Director
- Assist with preparation for the annual external audit
- Analyze financial statements and provide insights to leadership
- Maintain and monitor the annual operating budget
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal reporting requirements
- Process payroll accurately and manage employee benefits administration
- Complete 90/10 revenue percentage calculations
- Maintain a well-organized accounting filing system
- Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with journal entries and accrual-based financial reporting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks
- Understanding of unearned revenue accounting
- Experience with payroll preparation and reporting
- Strong analytical and financial planning skills
- Ability to design financial reporting that supports informed decision-making
- Excellent organizational and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
