Summary
Performs a wide variety of janitorial and custodial tasks in contracted public buildings ensuring quality standards are met.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs a wide variety of cleaning tasks to include, but not be limited to: sweeping, mopping, dust mopping, spot cleaning, trash collection and removal, vacuuming, dusting, emptying and cleaning ash trays, restroom cleaning and floor maintenance such as stripping and waxing, etc.
- Ensures that equipment used in the performance of all duties is maintained in a clean and operable condition. Reports any problems with equipment to Custodial Project Manager/Production Manager – SGE & Retail Custodial in a timely manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Custodial Project Manager/Production Manager – SGE & Retail Custodial to include, but not be limited to: snow removal, grass cutting, etc.
- Promotes an environment of workplace safety. Assures that duties are performed in a safe manner and safety requirements are adhered to.
- Communicates progress, problems, and concerns to the Custodial Project Manager/Production Manager – SGE & Retail Custodial.
Education and Experience
- No formal education necessary.
- Must have a qualifying disability that meets the criteria for state or federal set aside contracts.
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
- Familiar with general janitorial procedures for cleaning public buildings.
- Must have the ability to call Custodial Project Manager at least one hour prior to start of each shift to report absence.
- Must be available and flexible to work on a seven-day schedule.
