JOB TITLE: Human Resources Manager

MISSION OF GOODWILL

Since 1933, we have assisted thousands of individuals throughout Northwest Ohio to become economically independent.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in maintaining orientation program by revising policies and changing format as needed.
- Facilitates weekly orientation.
· Assist in HR administration activities including data entry, time and attendance, and maintenance of personnel and confidential files.
- Assist Director of Safety and Facilities with enrollment and maintenance of employee benefits including, healthcare, vision, dental, Rx, 403(b) and life insurance.
· Maintain adequate agency staffing by coordinating the recruitment, placing adds, and
Benefits orientation of new employees.
· Maintain confidentiality with regard to employee files and business information; responsible for recordkeeping regarding hires, promotions, transfers, performance, reviews, discipline and separations.
· Maintain HRIS database by removing active employees and changing employees’ statuses.
· Recommend strategies to improve corporate culture and employee relations; monitor culture through surveys, program evaluations and other communications.
· Review and recommend agency policies and procedures related to personnel management, health and safety and other matters as required by federal and state laws.
· Oversee performance evaluation process including annual and introductory periods for all employees.
· Participate in employee disciplines and separations as requested.
- With assistance from the Director of Employee Engagement, represent Goodwill nationally, statewide and locally at meetings, hearings and conferences pertinent to areas of responsibilities.
- Perform background checks.
- Assist all employees with HR-related questions or issues.
- Reviews and approves disciplinary actions ensuring consistency, making changes when necessary.
- Assist with the investigation and data gathering for EEOC and OCRC charges as needed
- Assist with the compliance of all locals, state, and federal regulations and laws including those requirements of accreditation entities such as CARF.
- Effectively recruits including placing ads on job boards, newspapers and social media; and conducting interviews (telephone, open sessions & job fairs) when appropriate.
- Responsible for HR & Safety forms administration, updating, filing and upkeep (I-9, W-4, PAF, etc.)
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with all departments.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Employee Engagement.
OCCASIONAL DUTIES OR SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS:
Travel for meetings and training as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent work experience.
2. Experience in developing organizational policies and procedures.
3. Understanding of workers’ compensation, unemployment, federal and state labor regulations, and law.
4. Good communication skills
5. Intermediate computer skills required.
