Job Description
Responsible to assist the Store Manager in the overall operation, leadership, and performance of a retail store, including meeting sales goals and budgets. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Opens and closes the store or ensures that proper personnel are assigned to do so in the store manager's absence.
- Prepares daily and weekly sales reports, daily deposits, and all other required paperwork including sales manuals, safety alert, and sales tracking report.
- Assists the store manager in ordering merchandise in accordance with store procedures.
- Assists with keeping shelves and sales floor properly stocked and priced.
- Communicates with the store manager to determine daily priorities to be accomplished.
- Provides information to the store manager concerning staff performance.
- Trains and supervises all store personnel in store manager's absence.
- Maintains store premises and grounds in a clean and neat condition and ensures a safe environment for employees and customers. Reports any problems to store manager.
- Handles customer complaints in a fair and impartial manner.
- Knowledge of cash register and computer usage desirable. Uses the cash register to record all purchases, and gives customers receipts and correct change.
- Receives, checks and prices incoming stock; maintains stock level and colorization of rack goods, categorizes other items such as men's shoes, ladies shoes, etc.
- Receives donations from the public and issues receipt if requested and then sorts donations according to store procedures.
- Maintains proper inventory and rotation of stock and marks down merchandise according to store procedures.
- Safeguards the premises and its contents at all times, and seeks to reduce the possibility of pilferage or burglary.
- Has knowledge and understanding of the Goodwill sales manual
- Ensures proper recording and accounting of time.
- Attends monthly manager's meeting in store manager's absence.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and previous retail sales and/or management experience preferred.
- Must have sufficient bookkeeping skills to maintain sales records and reports incidental to store operations.
- Must have ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Valid driver's license with safe driving history required.
- Must have ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening.
- Some travel required.

- Beginning rate of pay is $14.86 per hour.
