What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Career Advisor / Case manager position at Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit.?
To provide case management and coordinated services to trainees enrolled in employment and training programs.
Bachelor’s degree required in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or Rehabilitation Counseling or in a related human services field. May be required to obtain Career Development Facilitator certification
Experience working with state and local human service agencies and nonprofit organizations serving persons with complex, multiple barriers or needs and coordination of services among multiple entities for personal and workforce development.
Knowledge of case management principles, special populations, regulations and legal issues, vocational counseling and service options and supports. Documented skill in areas of written and verbal communication, group dynamics, service plan development and implementation, advocacy, human relations and time management. Capability to motivate others toward achieving measurable goals. Ability to work in a variety of settings with culturally-diverse families and communities with the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate. Ability to effectively address negative behavioral situations or challenges; resolve conflict with diverse populations and situations.
