A Store Housewares Processor is responsible for sorting, processing, evaluating, and price setting all incoming store merchandise. This is an essential process for our retail stores. It is also an excellent opportunity to learn the mechanics behind the scenes in retail.
Goodwill of Greater Detroit is seeking candidates with the following skills:
- The ability to make judgments on the sellable value of items at the store.
- The ability to work with diverse staff, customers, and vendors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to make quick decisions and to work within established guidelines.
- Awareness of current styles and an appreciation for what is and is not marketable.
- Basic math functions.
- Prior retail experience is a plus but is not required.
