What are the responsibilities and job description for the Donation Center - Donation Attendant position at Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit.?
Greeting customers at the door, assist customers with their donations/ sorting items into the proper places/ making sure the backroom is well organized and cleaned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED: Any combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the job.

REQUIRED:
- Excellent listening skills.
- Ability to work with others collaboratively to achieve a shared goal.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires standing and walking and occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending, and reaching with hands and arms. Requires frequent lifting and moving of heavy items up to 40 pounds. May be required to stand for entire shift.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
Requires energetic, team-oriented individual with a positive “can-do” attitude and an ability to understand, accept and work with people who have disabilities and/or other barriers to employment. Need to be able to identify different materials included in donations.
MACHINES/EQUIPMENT:

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mix of donation, production, and retail environments. Usually fast-paced.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and values that reflect the organization’s mission and values. Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and appearance at all times. Must be 16 years of age or older. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, extended hours and holidays. Must pass a background check.
