Warehouse Assistant Manager

SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Assistant Manager assists the Warehouse Manager in planning, directing, or coordinating transportation, storage, or distribution activities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable government laws or regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist Warehouse Manager with the operations of the Warehouse.
2. Plans, directs, and coordinates transportation, storage, and/or distribution activities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Read and practice the policies and procedures of Goodwill Industries of El Paso.
2. Ensures that all team members comply and practice the policies and procedures of

Goodwill Industries of El Paso.

1. Reports for work as scheduled, using the provided time clock to accurately record time

 worked.

1. Acts as positive role model for other team members, trainees, and community service

workers.

1. Provides pleasant and helpful customer service.
2. Ensure that all baling logs are properly utilized with correct bale number and weight.
3. Assists with the daily collection and transportation of salvage material, supplies and

waste materials from stores and warehouse.

1. Must keep warehouse clean and hazard-free.
2. Must be able to work within the baling operation.
3. Complies with theft and loss prevention policies of Goodwill Industries of El Paso Inc.,

reports all suspicious activities to Warehouse Manager and District Manager.

1. Must attend regularly scheduled store meetings and training courses.
2. Must dress appropriately for work area. Keep a neat and clean appearance.
3. Must have a valid Driver License and auto insurance required.
4. Must be able to operate forklift.
5. Must have access to reliable transportation.
6. Must comply with all Safety Rules and Regulations.
7. Must perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School diploma or GED preferred.
2. Retail Experience preferred.
3. Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English.
4. Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisors and

team members to promote a positive teamwork culture.

1. Must be able to collaborate with people who have disabilities and diverse backgrounds.
2. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, on short notice, including nights, weekends,

and holidays. Occasionally more than 40 hours per week.

1. Must be able to perform in a hectic work environment.
2. Must have working knowledge of men’s, women’s, and children’s clothes.
3. Must have working knowledge of hard lines and soft lines.
4. Must be able to travel when required to other Goodwill Industries Inc. within West

Texas and Southern New Mexico.

1. Must manage one’s time and the time of others.
2. Must oversee activities related to dispatching, routing, or tracking transportation vehicles.
3. Must inspect transportation equipment for damage or defects.
4. Must analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
5. Must have the knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by rail or road, including

      the relative costs and benefits.
