Summary of Position
The Sourcing Recruiter proactively identifies, engages, and pipelines qualified talent to support organizational hiring needs. This position focuses on passive sourcing, market intelligence, and early‑stage candidate assessment to ensure a steady flow of high‑quality candidates for current and future openings. The Sourcing Recruiter fosters collaborative teamwork and a strong service‑oriented culture while supporting Recruiters and hiring managers through targeted sourcing, prescreening, and pipeline management.
Role and Responsibilities
Recruitment Strategy & Planning
Partner with Recruiters and hiring managers to understand job requirements, responsibilities, and ideal candidate profiles.
Develop sourcing strategies to support organizational hiring needs, especially for hard‑to‑fill and high‑volume roles.
Build and maintain proactive pipelines of qualified passive candidates for current and future openings.
Job Posting & Sourcing
Post job openings on job boards, social media, and internal platforms as needed.
Proactively source candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, social media, networking events, job fairs, and industry‑specific forums.
Conduct talent mapping and market research to identify target companies, competitor talent pools, and emerging skill sets.
Screening & Initial Assessment
Review resumes and candidate profiles to identify qualified talent.
Conduct initial phone screens to evaluate skills, experience, and alignment with role requirements.
Present qualified candidates to Recruiters and hiring managers with clear summaries and recommendations.
Candidate Experience & Communication
Develop personalized outreach messages to engage passive talent and increase response rates.
Maintain timely, professional communication with candidates throughout early stages of the hiring process.
Ensure a positive candidate experience by providing updates and answering questions promptly.
Offer Support & Onboarding
Collaborate with Recruiters and hiring managers to support offer preparation and negotiation.
Assist with onboarding tasks, including documentation and coordination to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
Data Management & Reporting
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date candidate records in the ATS.
Track sourcing and recruitment metrics (response rates, time‑to‑slate, pipeline health) and generate reports for management.
Measure the effectiveness of sourcing channels and recommend improvements for efficiency and quality.
Employer Branding
Promote the organization’s mission, values, and culture in all sourcing communications.
Support employer branding initiatives by representing the organization at job fairs, community events, and networking activities.
Compliance & Best Practices
Ensure all sourcing and recruitment activities comply with legal requirements and company policies.
Maintain confidentiality of candidate and organizational information.
Stay current on sourcing tools, trends, and best practices to continually improve strategies.
Retention & Team Member Engagement
Conduct check‑ins with newly placed candidates to support early engagement and retention.
Partner with Recruiters and hiring managers to identify and address early‑stage concerns.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or 3–5 years of sourcing or recruiting experience.
Experience using an ATS and CRM system with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Strong Boolean search, passive sourcing, and market research skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple pipelines and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of building materials and processes (if required by customer/industry).
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Frequently required to walk; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; and talk or hear.
Ability to cope with and tolerate moderate levels of stress.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
