Summary
The Assistant Operations Manager maintains overall responsibility for the store during all teacher shopping events at Crayons to Classrooms (C2C) and assists the Director of Operations with all warehouse operations. This position includes acting as a major point of contact with teachers, other key school personnel associated with the schools served by the store, and volunteers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As a member of the C2C staff, the Assistant Operations Manager will be responsible for the following:
1. Participates in staff meetings convened by the Executive Director.
2. Successful interaction with the Director of Operations, Director of Programs, Program Support Specialist, Volunteer Coordinator, and Systems Administrator.
3. Participates in an annual performance development plan to review progress in the position as required by the Executive Director.

Key Position Responsibilities:
The Assistant Operations Manager provides ongoing communications with school personnel, board members, and other local constituents.
1. Trains, manages and supports new and returning volunteers in warehouse operations.
2. Collaborate with the Director of Operations and Program Support Specialist to maintain an attractive shopping environment in the store, which includes but is not limited to signage, displays, and overall general appearance.
3. Delivery of high-quality service to both internal and external customers.
4. With the Director of Operations, maintain infrastructure and asset management.
5. Assists the Director of Operations in maintaining all standards regarding warehouse organization and appearance.
6. Creates and/or provides input for a monthly C2C or teacher newsletter regarding updates on teacher shopping, coupons, new products and other store information.
7. Assists the Director of Operations in maintaining a system for managing multi-million-dollar product inventory for C2C.
8. Coordinates shipping, receiving, and warehouse materials handling services with Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley.
9. Assists the Director of Operations in maintaining all safety policies, guidelines, and warehouse compliance with safety and OSHA standards of operation.
10. Maintains knowledge of material handling equipment and its safe operation.
11. Picks up donations and manages the delivery of all incoming donated inventory and gift-in-kind items.
12. Communicates with other teacher free stores/organizations to procure, trade and/or reduce product, as needed.
13. Research and establish the value of all donated products for the purpose of determining their income and expense values on financial statements and meeting government requirements.
14. Co-manages the organization’s box truck, to include, but not limited to safety, sanitation, and maintenance of the vehicle.

Supervisory Responsibilities
None.

Education Requirements
A high school diploma or GED is required.

Experience Requirements
A minimum of five-seven years’ experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Warehousing is required.

Employee must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider. Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.

Qualification Requirements:
1. Strong organizational and planning skills
2. Effective interpersonal skills and customer relations
3. Knowledge of customer service including handling customer complaints and resolving disputes
4. Written and verbal communications skills
5. Technology skills related to spreadsheet development, data analysis, technical presentations and most other functions of Microsoft Office
6. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
7. Comfortable working with Outlook and Google Drive
8. Database experience plus
9. Ability to learn quickly and take initiative with limited direction.
