JOB SUMMARY: To Supervise Outlet operation, including supervision of staff, scheduling, stock rotation, cash handling and product sales, controlling both store resources and human resources to meet budget goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Supervise and perform cash register operations, including responsibility for all monies received and making daily bank deposits; ensure protection of these assets from either internal or external losses.
Oversee product flow into and out of the Outlet, (ensuring a constant supply of fresh product, with unsold product going to salvage or disposal).
Ensure proper store staffing during hours of operation.
Ensure that store housekeeping, safety and security is maintained, reporting all needed repairs/problems/hazards immediately.
Supervise staff, including the selection, promotion, demotion, discipline/termination, training (including safety) performance appraisal and salary change recommendations for staff, according to Company policy.
Complete and submit required paperwork to ensure proper administration of established systems.
Process payroll for employees, maintaining confidentiality in this and all other personnel-related functions and procedures.
Check receipts to ensure merchandise has been paid for.
Develop a safe work environment through training staff in safe work practices, communicating periodic safety information, and performing safety inspections.
SECONDARY DUTIES

Qualifications:JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE REQ’D: Completion of forklift certification within 90 days of hire/placement. California Driver’s License and proof of insurance are preferred but not required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Two years of retail sales experience with at least six months of assistant manager experience; “as is” retail experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Familiarity with basic bookkeeping and record-keeping tasks.
Familiarity with sales/merchandising techniques.
Familiarity with Company and Retail policies and procedures (this may be learned on the job).
Familiarity with retail safety and security procedures and material handling techniques.
Familiarity with Goodwill Central Coast’s mission, general Company policies, and procedures (this may be learned on the job)
Familiarity with typical computer programs and computer operation.
EQUIPMENT USED: Typical retail and material handling equipment; typical office equipment; vehicles.
SKILLS/APTITUDES/TEMPERAMENTS:
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Ability to communicate in basic Spanish desirable.
Ability to make decisions quickly and with confidence.

Ability to maintain a strong sales presence demonstrating a high energy and enthusiastic work ethic that can be reflected in overall Outlet sales, cooperation with others and employee morale.
Ability to perform all cash/check transactions accurately, including ability to operate cash register/supervise cash register functions.
Ability to price merchandise by the pound pricing listed or fair market value for furniture and large wares items.
Ability to drive forklifts in the transaction of daily operations.
Ability to coordinate eye/hand/foot movement to safely move in around fixtures and merchandise.
Ability to move hands and fingers quickly to operate cash register and handle merchandise.
Ability to accept responsibility for direction, planning and control of the store operations.
Ability to make judgments and decisions and communicate these clearly based on established policies.
Ability to adhere to safe work practices as documented in Company safety policies; ability to report safety hazards/accidents promptly to supervisor or safety committee member.
EMOTIONAL EFFORT:
The job requires the incumbent to occasionally deal with short deadlines or special events, which may require some overtime. There are fluctuating periods of high activity/demands throughout the course of the workday.
JOB SETTING
Work is performed in a large warehouse.
There is exposure to dust and odors. The working/standing surface is even. There is noise from daily activities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work pace is steady with constant standing and walking. The job involves moderate physical work demands requiring regular lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. maximum. Large or heavy items (51 lbs. or more) are moved by using appropriate material handling equipment and/or with assistance from co-workers.
Normal or corrected talking, hearing, and seeing abilities are sufficient to perform required tasks.
