Summary/Objective
Operate equipment that cuts and packages country ham, ensure quality standards of product, and support production needs; equipment may include Line, Slicers, Roll-stocks, Sealers, Scales.
Essential Functions
Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety Policy, and Quality Policy at all times.
Load materials into production equipment; to include slicers, roll-stocks, and sealers.
Remove products or workpieces from production equipment, may use knife for trimming.
Count and weigh finished products or workpieces.
Sort materials or products for processing, storing, or shipping.
Mark products, workpieces, or equipment with identifying information.
Notify others of equipment repair or maintenance needs.
Watch operating equipment to detect malfunctions.
Package products for storage or shipment.
Move products, materials, or equipment between work areas.
Signal others to coordinate work activities.
Feed materials or products into or through equipment.
Perform Production shut-down procedures as assigned.
Competencies
Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, and maintenance.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a factory setting and is often exposed to moving machine parts, machine noise, varying cold temperatures, and concrete floors.
