Role Description
We are seeking a bilingual, field-ready HR professional to serve as both a core HR generalist and an active presence across our restaurant locations. This hybrid role combines HR administration — payroll, compliance, leave management, and employee relations — with hands-on field responsibilities including investigations, compliance audits, and direct support to our restaurant teams across NYC and Long Island.
Duties
- HR administration
- Coordinate payroll processing, rate increases, and wage acknowledgments across multiple locations
- Manage leave of absence administration (Disability, PFL, FMLA) and workers' compensation claims
- Administer unemployment hearings, garnishments, and quarterly compliance reporting
- Maintain employee records, HR policies, and termination workflows in Paylocity and Harri
- Support 401(k), tuition assistance, and general employee benefits inquiries
- Serve as a point of contact for employee and GM-level HR questions
Field operations & employee relations
This role operates hybrid in the field. Regular travel across NYC and Long Island is required. Spanish fluency is mandatory.
- Conduct on-site workplace investigations and manage resolution and documentation
- Perform HR compliance audits across restaurant locations
- Partner with General Managers on performance, corrective action, and team culture
- Serve as a trusted HR resource for hourly employees across all locations
Requirements
- 1 years HR experience
- Bilingual — English & Spanish (mandatory)
- Willingness to travel across NYC & Long Island
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, etc.)
- Ability to confidently handle employee investigations
Preferred
- NYC / Long Island Fair Work Week familiarity
- NY State employment law (PFL, FMLA, workers' comp)
- Paylocity experience
- Harri or similar WFM platform
