What are the responsibilities and job description for the Architectural Designer position at Goodall Homes?
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Accountable for developing and overseeing all production related architecture functions, processes,
customer experience, team member experience, and trade partner experience. Works in close
collaboration with all departments to ensure successful architectural designs are conducted in
accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Requires computer proficiency in AutoCAD,
Excel, Word, and specific software systems specified by Goodall Homes.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide direction, project management and ownership of all drafting activity for existing
Goodall Product.
• Manage and supervise lot specific architectural starts process.
• Responsible for quality control of all existing product and lot specifics from both internal and
external resources.
• Ensure proper use of Goodall defined architectural standards.
• Provide development opportunities through identification of internal and external training
opportunities.
• Assist in creation, implementation, and management of Corporate Architectural policies and
procedures.
PREREQUISITES FOR SUCCESS:
• Preferred 2-year Degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or Building
Construction.
• Related Functional Experience: Minimum 3 years operations experience in AutoCAD, Revit, SoftPlan
or similar.
• Software Skills: Microsoft Office. Bluebeam is a plus.
• Desired Construction Field Experience: 1 year
• Comprehensive knowledge of technical and procedural activities related to home building
construction including understanding plans / specs.
• Knowledge of residential construction techniques, construction documents, building codes, and
CAD concepts.
• Effective communication and organization skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize several tasks without compromising quality of work or
mission deadlines.
• Proven organization skills in a high paced work environment.
• Ability to review, analyze, and interpret information as well as trouble-shoot associated
problems.
• Ability to adapt in a changing workplace.
