What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floater Teacher position at Good Shepherd Day School?
Reports to Director and Assistant Director
Primary Function: Provide support to the teaching team to ensure a safe and consistent classroom environments.
Job Responsibilities:
· Must be able to fill in for Lead Teacher when absent and follow posted lesson plan for class.
. Work as a team member to meet the needs of the children’s classroom and center as a whole.
· Meet the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child.
· Maintain confidentiality
· Report any suspected abuse to supervisor
· Maintain a safe and healthy environment
· Attend in-service staff meetings
· Keep all appropriate records such as attendance and time sheets
· Meet all applicable licensing regulations
· Daily assignments may include assisting lead teachers during class time, coverage for other staff during breaks and planning time, cleaning toys and educational materials, cleaning common areas such as bathrooms, kitchen, break room and outdoor play areas, removing garbage, inventorying supplies, organizing art and supply cabinets.
Skills / Knowledge Required:
· Must have at least 12 - 18 Early Childhood Education credits from a college or university.
. Must have a CBC Qualification Letter
. Have at least two years classroom experience in childcare facility.
. Must be CPR/First Aid Certified
· ITS-SIDS Certification
· Formal Education in Early Childhood Education Preferred
· Ongoing professional development in the field of child development required
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
· Demonstrate organizational abilities
· Must meet physical requirements of the job including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
