What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farm Hand/Harvester position at Good Find Farm, LLC?
Good Find Farm is a certified organic vegetable farm in Damascus, PA, located four miles outside of Callicoon, NY.
We're seeking a hard working, plant-minded person to join our team as a seasonal farm hand.
Seasonal position : Starts ASAP and runs through the end of September or October depending on availability
Work days: Tuesday and Wednesday
Hours: 7AM - 5PM
Applicants must be able to work Tuesday, Wednesday every week through the end of September or October depending on availability.
As a farm hand, you will be an essential part of our small team, contributing to the daily operations of the farm. The work will include maintenance harvesting, bulk harvesting, weeding, pruning and trellising in high tunnels, bed preparation, planting, rock picking, cleaning, maintaining clean work areas and more.
Please be aware that vegetable farming is an extremely physical job that requires working long hours in all weather conditions, rain or shine. Candidates must be in good physical health and be able to lift 50 lbs.
Because the farm is located in a very rural area and the work days often begin at daybreak, it's preferable that applicants live within a half-hour drive from the farm. No housing is provided.
