ECE INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNICIAN
CLASSIFICATION: Classified
SALARY: Classified Salary Schedule, Range 16
DEFINITION
Under the supervision of the Migrant Program Specialist and direction of the Instructional Leader will perform a wide variety of tasks helping children and Migrant Education Even Start families. Will provide educational activities for parents and child participants in home based or site based settings.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential Duties:
• Plans and presents parent and Early Childhood Education programs at sites and/or at homes.
• Maintains records as required by MEES, Building Bridges Brigance or other Early Childhood Education programs under the direction of the supervisor.
• Assists the teacher and/or instructional leader in providing parenting skills to Migrant parents and Early Childhood Education and kindergarten reading skills to children.
• Prepares for meetings, serves snacks and clean-up after various activities as needed.
• Provides transportation for parents, when needed.
• Assists in designing and developing educational and informational materials.
Other Duties:
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Physical, mental and emotional stamina to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position; manual dexterity sufficient to write, use telephone and business machines (including typewriter, computer, calculator); vision sufficient to read printed materials; hearing sufficient to conduct in person and telephone conversations; speaking ability in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversational distance and on the telephone; physical agility to push/pull, squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop and to reach overhead; physical mobility sufficient to move about the work environment (office, district, from school site-to-site), drive an automobile, and respond to emergency situations; physical strength sufficient to lift 25

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two years experience and/or Early Childhood Education Certificate
• First Aide/CPR Certificate

Ability to
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those encountered in the course of employment
• Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
• Travel from Projects Site to make home visits, attend meetings within the County.
• Keep and maintain accurate records
License
• Possess an appropriate California operator’s license and be insured
