Requirements: Completion of formal or informal education sufficient to assure the ability to read, write, and communicate in English at the level required for successful job performance; High school diploma or equivalent; Completion of bus driver training school provided by the California Highway Patrol or the District; Driving experience either paid or unpaid. Knowledge of: Safe driving practices. Ability to: Drive a school bus safely and efficiently; Maintain order among students on a school bus; Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work; Recognize malfunctions in equipment and take appropriate action. License: An appropriate Class B California operator’s license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles; A school bus drivers certificate issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles; A valid medical certificate; A Standard Red Cross First Aid Certificate.
