Primary Purpose:
To assist in providing a well organized, smoothly functioning library environment in which students and faculty can take full advantage of the resources available.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Computer literacy.
Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
Experience
Three years clerical or secretarial experience, educational setting preferred.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Support an environment that allows students/faculty to participate actively and successfully in a Library Media Center.
2. Perform tasks related to the circulation of materials and scheduling of facilities and equipment.
3. Prepare purchase orders, bibliographies, reports and routine correspondence.
4. Assist with ordering, receiving and processing materials, supplies and equipment.
5. Add, update and maintain bibliographic records.
6. Gather statistics and assist with record-keeping, inventory and bookkeeping procedures.
7. Assist with collection/equipment shelving and maintenance.
8. Use computerized management programs for library operations.
9. Assist students/faculty in selecting, locating, and using materials and equipment, including computer hardware/ software.
10.Work with students to maintain an orderly, inviting atmosphere.
11.Assist with supervision of student aides and volunteers.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assist with supervision of student aides and volunteers.
Equipment Used:
Ability to operate standard office equipment, computer, and various types of educational equipment.

Work with frequent interruptions, some lifting as well as transporting library resources.
