Hourly Wage: $18.00 per hour
Anticipated Start Date: August 3, 2026
Schedule: Approximately 15 hours per week. Must be available to work evenings and Saturdays.
Position Overview
Johnson City Library is seeking a friendly and dependable Library Assistant who enjoys helping people and providing excellent customer service. This position focuses on supporting daily library operations and creating a welcoming experience for every patron who walks through our doors.

Essential Functions
· Provides excellent customer service at the front desk including check-ins/checkouts, answering reference questions, and basic technology support.
· Assists patrons with library resources, services, and technology.
· Supports collection maintenance and other daily library operations.
· Participates in short-term and long-term planning for programs, services, grants, and special projects.
· Shares responsibility for building supervision, upkeep, and opening/closing procedures.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience working or volunteering in a library setting.
· Experience in customer service.
· Comfortable using various technologies, including Mac, Windows, and smartphones.
· Creative, energetic, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
