Job Purpose:
The User Services department of Foley Library is seeking a part-time Adjunct Library Support Faculty to support the point of need informational and access requests of library patrons, including students, faculty, and staff. The position reports to the Head of User Services and collaborates with faculty and staff across the library to effectively fulfill on library services and curricula, primarily during the evening and weekend hours. The adjunct faculty maintains and instructs patrons on library spaces, collections, technology, and services. In partnership with the User Services Specialists, this adjunct role trains and develops the 30-35 student employees in the User Services department.
This is a fixed-term position for the Spring 2026 semester. The position is scheduled up to 20 hours per week and is not benefits eligible.

Essential Functions:
- Provides point of need instruction in library services, research approaches, technology usage, and reference. - (Essential)
- Trains student employees in research and operational procedures including library and technology skills and mentors peer research consultants and lead students in their development. - (Essential)
- Prepares and maintains physical space of library including opening and closing procedures for patron access, communicating with Plant Services and Campus Safety as necessary. - (Essential)
- Facilitates library patron access to information via resource sharing, request fulfillment, and circulation services. - (Essential)
- Supports programmatic goals of unit including informational displays and events. - (Essential)
- Assists with other projects as needed. - (Essential)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with experience in library service or customer service.
Intermediate computer skills.
Clear communication skills in a variety of mediums.
Ability to work effectively without direct supervision.
Familiarity with the specific needs of academic library research.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree with experience in academic libraries.
Previous experience working with students in a higher education setting.
Experience with LibGuides or a comparable web-building platform.
Experience with technology found in an academic library (printers, scanners, copiers).
Experience with ExLibris Alma or another integrated library system (ILS).
Supervisory/ Coordinator/ Project Management experience.
Experience engaging with diverse communities and a demonstrated commitment to Gonzaga’s mission.
