Job Purpose:
Gonzaga University’s School of Education Teacher Certification Program is currently seeking certified teachers interested in supervising Pre-Service Teacher Candidates at the K-12 levels, in all content areas in the Greater Spokane Area for the academic year.
A Teacher Certification Supervisor is a mentor and a liaison in coordinating the functions between the teacher candidates, mentor teachers, and the department.
Teacher Certification Supervisors are responsible for visiting teacher candidates in their school setting and observing and evaluating lessons using the Gonzaga assessment software, in addition to debriefing with the teacher candidate and mentor teacher. Teaching Certification Supervisors are required to attend meetings on campus each semester.

Essential Functions:
- 100% - Attend in-person, on-campus supervisor meetings Attend Zoom meetings, if needed Attend Student Teaching Celebration, if supervising a student teacher Complete University required trainings Complete up to 9 in-person visits Use technology for assignments Meet all due dates Submit mileage monthly on expense reporting software (e.g. Concur) Check Gonzaga email regularly and respond within 24 hours Professional communication with candidates, mentor teachers, and Clinical office regularly and as needed Follow agreed upon protocols for field experiences and student teaching If needed, meet with Teacher Education faculty or Professors of Record Confer with Director of Clinical Experiences for issues or concerns with placements, mentor teachers, and candidates’ instructional skills and/or dispositions Liaison between candidate, mentor teacher and Teacher Education Clinical Office - (Essential)
Minimum Qualifications:
Teaching certificate
At least 5 years K-12 experience
Master's degree
Reliable transportation
Flexible schedule Monday thru Friday between 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
