Goliath Construction Consulting is seeking an Electrical Estimator – Special Projects for a well-established electrical contractor in the Tampa, FL area. This position will focus on a variety of small-to-midsize commercial electrical projects, including tenant improvements, retail and commercial buildouts, renovations, service projects, and other quick-turn opportunities ranging from approximately $7,500 to $1M.
This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator currently working with a smaller electrical contractor or someone coming from the special projects, service, or small projects group of a larger electrical contractor.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate estimates for commercial special projects, including tenant improvements, buildouts, renovations, and service work.
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and customer requests to determine project requirements.
- Perform material and labor takeoffs and obtain vendor and subcontractor pricing.
- Prepare proposals, scope clarifications, exclusions, and pricing revisions.
- Manage multiple estimates and quick-turn opportunities simultaneously.
- Coordinate with customers, project managers, vendors, and field personnel through estimating and project turnover.
Qualifications
- 2 years of commercial electrical estimating experience preferred.
- Experience estimating special projects, tenant improvements, commercial buildouts, renovations, service work, or smaller commercial projects strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, materials, labor requirements, and construction practices.
- Ability to estimate projects ranging from small service work to approximately $1M.
- Electrical estimating software experience required; Accubid experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
