Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a strong understanding of various accounting software and concepts, including Quickbooks, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger management. The Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial data and supporting strategic decision-making processes within the organization.
Duties
- Record daily financial transactions.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
- Prepare invoices and follow up on payments.
- Maintain the general ledger.
- Assist with payroll processing.
- Prepare basic financial reports for management.
- Organize receipts and documentation for taxes.
- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of bookkeeping or related administrative/financial experience.
Skills
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, FreshBooks).
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, reconciliations).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Requirements
- Education & Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Finance preferred.
- High school diploma or GED (minimum).
Qualifications
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Experience in corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, or governmental accounting preferred.
- Familiarity with bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax preparation.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis and reconcile accounts accurately.
- Excellent understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, and financial report writing.
- Proficiency in 10 key typing for data entry accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in bookkeeping tasks.
