Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a strong understanding of various accounting software and concepts, including Quickbooks, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger management. The Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial data and supporting strategic decision-making processes within the organization.

Duties

  • Record daily financial transactions.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
  • Prepare invoices and follow up on payments.
  • Maintain the general ledger.
  • Assist with payroll processing.
  • Prepare basic financial reports for management.
  • Organize receipts and documentation for taxes.
  • Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of bookkeeping or related administrative/financial experience.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, FreshBooks).
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, reconciliations).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED (minimum).

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Experience in corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, or governmental accounting preferred.
  • Familiarity with bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax preparation.
  • Ability to perform detailed account analysis and reconcile accounts accurately.
  • Excellent understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, and financial report writing.
  • Proficiency in 10 key typing for data entry accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in bookkeeping tasks.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
