Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Director to join our team at Goldwater Care Marseilles. As the leader of our Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the department to ensure the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs, and activities
- Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments
- Inspect storage rooms, workrooms, utility/janitorial closets, and other areas to ensure upkeep and supply control
- Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies and develop a plan of correction for maintenance deficiencies
- Perform administrative duties, such as completing necessary forms, reports, evaluations, and studies
- Supervise safety and fire protection and prevention programs and ensure maintenance personnel follow established safety regulations
- Ensure that all personal wear and/or use safety equipment and supplies when lifting or moving heavy objects
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information and report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure
- High school education or its equivalent
- Minimum 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity, in a maintenance/plant-related position
- Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the facility
