Accountant

Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, preferably within a legal firm environment, with proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and experience with LEAP is a plus. Attention to detail is paramount for this multitasking role, which involves assisting with Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), bank and credit card reconciliations, and more.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage Accounts Payable process including reviewing invoices, coding, approvals, and payments.
• Perform Accounts Receivable duties such as cash applications and reconciliation.
• Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations in a timely manner.
• Maintain the General Ledger and ensure accurate classification of transactions.
• Prepare checks for firm operating and trust accounts.
• Prepare financial statements and required business documents.
• Handle other ad-hoc duties as required.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 years of experience with accounting software, preferably including QBO and experience with LEAP is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly strong Excel skills.
• Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience in a legal firm environment is preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision.
• Team player who can collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain meticulous records.
