Responsibilities
- Assist groomers by safely handling dogs and other pets during grooming procedures
- Prepare pets for grooming by bathing, drying, brushing, and trimming as needed
- Support with animal restraint to ensure safety for both pets and staff during grooming sessions
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations, tools, and work areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Monitor pet behavior and health during grooming appointments, alerting staff to any concerns
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their pet’s needs and care instructions
- Handle pet sitting duties when required, ensuring pets are comfortable and well-cared-for in the facility
Skills
- Experience with dog training, pet grooming, or animal handling preferred
- Veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus for understanding animal health needs
- Knowledge of veterinary procedures and veterinary experience beneficial for handling animals safely
- Strong animal restraint skills to manage pets of various sizes and temperaments
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move equipment or assist with larger animals
