What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Program Associate position at Goldenrod Companies?
🏢 Insurance Program Associate (Internal Platform Role)
📍 Dallas, TX (100% in office)
Flatwater Insurance | A Goldenrod Companies Company
🚨 Not your typical insurance role
This isn’t a brokerage job.
This isn’t a claims-heavy role.
👉 This is an opportunity to help operate and scale an internal insurance platform supporting a national real estate development business.
If you like owning processes, working cross-functionally, and figuring things out without hand-holding — this will feel very different (in a good way).
The Opportunity
Flatwater Insurance functions as an internal insurance arm supporting construction and development projects across the country.
You’ll play a key role in:
- Managing insurance programs across multiple entities/projects
- Coordinating with brokers, carriers, and internal teams
- Supporting workers comp, payroll reporting, and project-specific coverage
- Helping build structure as the platform continues to grow
This is a hands-on, operational role with real ownership—not just maintenance.
What You’ll Be Doing
Program & Policy Management
- Oversee policies, renewals, endorsements, and coverage tracking
- Manage insurance across multiple active construction projects
- Support pricing, premiums, and program structure
Construction Workers Comp Focus
- Coordinate payroll reporting for workers comp policies
- Work with contractors and internal teams to ensure accurate data flow
- Support project-specific insurance requirements
Broker, Carrier & Contractor Coordination
- Act as a key point of contact across brokers, carriers, and project teams
- Help drive renewals from data gathering → execution
- Ensure alignment between coverage and project needs
Operations & Platform Support
- Assist in implementing and managing internal insurance systems/software
- Track documentation, compliance, and COIs
- Help improve processes as the business scales
What We’re Looking For
We’re open on background — this could come from several paths:
- Insurance brokerage (Account Manager / Associate level)
- Risk management or internal insurance teams
- Construction admin with exposure to insurance COIs
- Someone who understands premiums, renewals, and program flow
✔ 3–7 years of relevant experience
âś” Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight
âś” Highly organized detail-oriented
âś” Able to connect the dots between finance, insurance, and operations
Who You Are
- You don’t wait for direction — you figure things out and run with it
- You’re comfortable being the “go-to” person for a function
- You like building structure where it doesn’t fully exist yet
- You can own your week and operate with high autonomy
Why This Role Stands Out
âś” Operate like an internal insurance company, not a broker
âś” Direct exposure to construction development projects
✔ Real ownership early — not years down the line
âś” Opportunity to grow into a lead/manager role as the platform scales
âś” Backed by a well-capitalized, growing real estate platform
