Reports To: Building Principal & CTE Director
Job Goal: Create a classroom environment that implements district approved curriculum to ensure an equitable, engaging and positive learning experience for all students. Plan, coordinate, and instruct Career and Technical Education courses to students in 9th-12th grade.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree and possess a Washington state Teaching Certificate with endorsed in CTE. Preferred VCode certification 078000 for the position being considered.
- Documented successful and effective teaching, substitute teaching, and/or student teaching experience.
- Successful experience working in CTE or related field.
- Course work and/or experience appropriate to assignment.
- Technical and working knowledge of Washington State learning standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Commitment to the District's vision, mission and goals.
- Ability to work in a collaborative or team approach.
- Exhibit a positive attitude.
- Willingness and ability to work cooperatively with administration, staff, students and parents.
- Ability and skills necessary to individualize instruction.

Performance Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of the Washington State learning standards for grades and subjects to be taught.
- Prepare teaching materials to implement lessons to provide quality educational experiences to all students in a safe and optimal learning environment.
- Plan, implement and evaluate classroom instructional activities consistent with the adopted district curriculum and standards.
- Provide clear and focused instruction for all students by using a variety of teaching strategies that promote student engagement and interaction in order to meet the needs of all students through a defind course of study.
- Collaborate with school personnel, subject instructors, CTE staff, parents, and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions, planning curriculum, and meeting CTE compliance requirements.
- Advise parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of providing feedback to students and parents/guardians to remain informed on student progress, expectations and goals by using quality classroom-based assessments.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide and orderly, productive, and engaging learning environment.
- Maintain consistent prescence at worksite and regular hours, comply with all district policies and procedures and the Code of Professional Conduct.
- Continue to seek Profesional and Program Development by engaging in Professional Program and Leadership Organizations (Preferred: WE-BAM and FBLA).
- Establish and supervise the CTE CTSO Leadership Organization.
- Work with the Program Advisory Committee and community organizations to create local educational partnerships that support the needs and interests of the community.
- Work with minimal supervision and be flexible
- Regularly demonstrate professionalism in appearance, actions, decisions and overall performance
- Maintain strict confidentiality of student information; know and abide by FERPA rules
- Maintain an understanding of Affirmative Action, Title IX, and accommodations as directed within IEP or 504 plans
